My mum was one of the strongest women I have ever know. She always had time for everyone even a stranger she met in the street, they always felt that they could confide in her and that she would always listen and she did. As a child I knew never to cross her she was firm but loving. She was always there for me even when I became an adult she never judged me when things went wrong just stood by my side. To her the family was everything, she knew the true meaning of family and we all loved her for it. Christmas was her favourite time of the year when we would all gather at her home on Christmas Day.
She kept her illness to herself telling everyone that she was fine there was nothing to worry about. But these last 2 years going with her to the clinic I saw how it was effecting her, it was the only time she let her guard down the rest of the time she just hide it from everyone not wanting to worry or upset them.
Looking back on that time I'm glad I could be there for her walking beside her and at times giving her my strength to carry on. She was a very remarkable women I just hope that I have just a little of her qualities.
She was so determind to hold on until her great grandson was born at the end of September but God looked down and saw how much pain she was in and took her to be one of his angels in heaven. I know she is now free from pain and happy looking down on us all.
